An attacker who speaks French got into a tiny French car company, grabbed email and banking information, and installed a keylogger. Unremarkable until the very end.
He installed Tailscale and OpenSSH on a victim's computer before his command-and-control server went dark, creating a way back in that didn't even need the C2. His access was unaffected when the Havoc server went down the following day. The C2 returned eighteen days later, his agents independently reestablished contact, and he continued.
