Fake CAPTCHA Campaign Spreads Lumma Stealer in Multi-Industry Attacks
Researchers studying cybersecurity are drawing attention to a new malware campaign that distributes the notorious Lumma information stealer by using phony CAPTCHA verification checks.
According to a study shared with The Hacker News, Leandro Fróes, senior threat research engineer at Netskope Threat Labs, the campaign is worldwide, with the company tracking victims targeted in Argentina, Colombia, the United States, the Philippines, and other nations.
The campaign targets the greatest number of companies in the telecom sector, but it also covers a variety of other industries, such as marketing, banking, and healthcare.
