CBI Shuts Down £390K U.K. Tech Support Scam, Arrests Key Operatives in Noida Call Center
According to India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), it has taken action to dismantle a global cybercrime ring that targeted Australian and British nationals with "sophisticated" tech support frauds.
In the UK alone, the fraudulent scam is estimated to have caused losses exceeding £390,000 ($525,000).
Searches at three locations in Noida, including a fully operational fraudulent contact center operating within the Noida Special Economic Zone, were conducted by law enforcement on July 7, 2025, as part of Operation Chakra V.
