AI-Powered Fake News Campaign Targets Western Support for Ukraine and U.S. Elections
Since at least December 2023, a Moscow-based business that the United States sanctioned earlier this year has been connected to yet another influence campaign aimed at swaying public opinion against Ukraine and undermining Western support.
The Social Design Agency's (SDA) secret initiative uses artificial intelligence (AI)-enhanced films and fake websites that mimic reliable news sources to reach viewers in Ukraine, Europe, and the United States. The Insikt Group of Recorded Future has named it Operation Undercut.
