US govt seeks Instructure testimony on massive Canvas cyberattack
The U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security is urging Instructure executives to provide testimony regarding two cyberattacks perpetrated by the ShinyHunters extortion group, which targeted the company’s Canvas platform, enabling threat actors to access student data and disrupt educational activities during final examinations.
In a letter dispatched on Monday afternoon to Instructure CEO Steve Daly, Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee Andrew R. Garbarino indicated that the committee is probing the significant breach at Instructure that affects millions of students.
