US broadband provider Brightspeed investigates breach claims
One of the biggest fiber internet providers in the US, Brightspeed, is looking into allegations of data theft and security breaches made by the extortion group Crimson Collective.
The U.S. telecommunications and Internet service provider (ISP) was established in 2022 and provides services to rural and suburban areas in 20 states.
We are strict in safeguarding our networks and keeping an eye out for threats because we take the security of our networks and the safety of the data of our clients and workers very seriously. Brightspeed told BleepingComputer, "We are currently looking into reports of a cybersecurity event." We will keep our clients, staff, and authorities updated as we learn more.
