U.S. and Microsoft Seize 107 Russian Domains in Major Cyber Fraud Crackdown
On Thursday, Microsoft and the US Department of Justice (DoJ) announced the seizure of 107 domains from state-sponsored threat actors connected to Russia, which were being used to enable computer fraud and abuse within the nation.
According to Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, the Russian government carried out this operation to collect sensitive data belonging to Americans by tricking victims into disclosing account credentials through the use of phony email addresses.
