US Says VoIP Firm Delivered Billions of Scam Robocalls
A VoIP service provider in California has been charged with violating telemarketing laws by using its services to send billions of unlicensed robocalls to US consumers.
On Friday, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DoJ) jointly launched a civil enforcement action against XCast Labs, which has its headquarters in Los Angeles.
According to the complaint, XCast Labs services allegedly sent recipients—many of whom are on the National Do Not Call Registry—pre-recorded marketing messages.
