Hackers Using Fake Video Conferencing Apps to Steal Web3 Professionals’ Data

Researchers in cybersecurity have alerted consumers to a new fraud operation that uses phony video conferencing apps to spread the information-stealing virus Realst, which targets Web3 employees by pretending to be in a professional conference. The malware's threat actors have created phony businesses with AI to give them more validity, according to Tara Gould, a researcher at Cado Security. When the organization contacts targets to arrange a video conversation, the user is prompted to download the Realst infostealer meeting application from the website.
