Vo1d malware botnet grows to 1.6 million Android TVs worldwide
By recruiting devices as part of anonymous proxy server networks, a new version of the Vo1d malware botnet has expanded to 1,590,299 infected Android TV devices across 226 countries.
There are currently 800,000 active bots in the botnet, which peaked on January 14, 2025, according to an analysis by Xlab, which has been monitoring the new effort since late November.
