Google Pixel Devices Shipped with Vulnerable App Leaving Millions at Risk
Since September 2017, a sizable portion of Google's Pixel devices that were sold worldwide have dormant software on them that could be exploited to launch malicious attacks and spread different types of malware.
According to mobile security company iVerify, the problem appears as a pre-installed Android program named "Showcase.apk" that has disproportionate system privileges, such as the capacity to remotely execute code and install arbitrary packages on the device.
