Nearly three months after being officially charged in connection with the e-crime scheme, a 51-year-old dual Russian and Israeli national who is suspected of being a developer of the LockBit ransomware gang has been extradited to the United States.
In August 2024, Rostislav Panev was arrested in Israel for the first time. According to reports, he worked as a developer for the ransomware gang from 2019 to February 2024, when a law enforcement operation confiscated the enterprise’s online infrastructure.
