The semiconductor manufacturer AMD is alerting users to a fresh set of flaws that might expose data and impact a wide variety of chipsets.
The defects, which are commonly referred to as Transient Scheduler Attacks (TSA), appear in its CPUs as a speculative side channel that takes advantage of the timing of instruction execution under particular microarchitectural circumstances.
According to AMD’s advice, under certain situations, an attacker would be able to utilize this timing information to extrapolate data from different contexts, which might lead to information leaking.
