BlackSuit ransomware gang claims attack on KADOKAWA corporation

Following a recent intrusion on the KADOKAWA firm, the BlackSuit ransomware group has threatened to disclose stolen data if a ransom is not paid.

Japanese media giant KADOKAWA has a number of businesses in the publishing, gaming, and film industries. FromSoftware, the company that creates Elden Ring, is one of these businesses.

Due to a cyberattack on June 8, the corporation stated nearly three weeks ago that “multiple websites of the KADOKAWA Group are currently experiencing service outages”.

Since the corporation and its subsidiaries were housed in the same data center and were encrypted by ransomware, the incident affected the majority of their activities.
