Blind Eagle Targets Colombian Insurance Sector with Customized Quasar RAT

A threat actor known only as Blind Eagle is targeting the insurance industry in Colombia with the intention of delivering a modified strain of the Quasar remote access trojan (RAT), which has been known since June 2024.

According to a recent investigation published last week by Zscaler ThreatLabz analyst Gaetano Pellegrino, attacks have started with phishing emails that pose as the Colombian tax office.
