One of the last remaining forums that openly permitted the promotion of ransomware operations, the infamous RAMP cybercrime forum was taken over by the FBI. It served as a platform for advertising a variety of malware and hacking services.
A seizure notice that reads, “The Federal Bureau of Investigation has seized RAMP,” is now visible on both the forum’s Tor website and its clearnet domain, ramp4u[.]io.
The notice states that this action has been coordinated with the Department of Justice’s Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section and the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.
The seizure banner also appears to taunt the forum’s operators by displaying RAMP’s own slogan: THE ONLY PLACE RANSOMWARE ALLOWED!is a winking Masha from the well-known Russian children’s animation Masha and the Bear.
