Germany’s national bar association investigating ransomware attack

A cyberattack on the Brussels office of a legal group that represents German lawyers countrywide is being looked into.

On August 2, the German Federal Bar (BRAK) Association learned about the attack. The union serves as an umbrella organization for 28 regional bars in Germany and roughly 166,000 attorneys both domestically and abroad.

After BRAK revealed last week that it was looking into a cyberattack, the NoEscape ransomware group claimed on Monday that it had targeted the organization.
