ClickFix assaults have been used in a new campaign that targets Linux and Windows systems by using instructions that allow infections on either operating system.
ClickFix is a social engineering technique in which users are tricked into executing console commands that install malware by use of fictitious verification systems or application issues.
Historically, these assaults have targeted Windows systems, causing the targets to run PowerShell scripts from the Windows Run command, which can lead to ransomware and info-stealer malware infestations.
Researchers from Hunt.io discovered a more recent effort last week that is one of the first to modify this social engineering tactic for Linux platforms.
