Researchers studying threat intelligence are alerting people to the possibility of hackers using all the strategies shown in Scattered Spider activity to compromise several insurance companies in the United States.
The threat group usually focuses on a certain sector. In the past, they targeted retail companies in the UK before moving on to targets in the same industry in the US.
The US has seen several incursions that exhibit all the characteristics of scattered spider activity, according to the Google Threat Intelligence Group. John Hultquist, Chief Analyst at Google Threat Intelligence Group (GTIG), told BleepingComputer, “We are now seeing incidents in the insurance industry.”
