A 28-year-old Russian man was detained in Georgia and extradited to the US, according to the Justice Department, on charges that he created and sold a hacking tool that was used to gain the login credentials for tens of thousands of computers around the world.

Prosecutors claim that Dariy Pankov advertised access to more than 35,000 systems, made over $350,000 in illegal sales, and provided a platform for cybercriminals to carry out ransomware attacks and tax fraud.
