The creators of Path of Exile 2 have now explained how PoE 2 accounts have been compromised since November by confirming that a threat actor was able to alter the password and get access to at least 66 accounts thanks to a compromised admin account.
Many people lost their in-game purchases, including priceless items that took hundreds of hours to obtain, as a result of the threat actors changing the passwords of other accounts using the compromised admin account.
