With additional capabilities intended to steal Android PINs, forty new variations of the TrickMo Android banking trojan have been discovered in the wild. These variants are connected to 22 different command and control (C2) infrastructures and 16 droppers.
Zimperium is reporting this in response to a previous investigation by Cleafy that examined some but not all of the circulating variations.
TrickMo is believed to have been used in attacks against Android users from at least September 2019, while IBM X-Force initially documented it in 2020.
