The Chinese-owned social media app TikTok will soon be blocked on all devices used by the UK government, according to recent announcements.
Following a security review of the app ordered by Cabinet Office Ministers, Oliver Dowden, the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, confirmed the plans earlier today.
“We are today prohibiting this programme from government devices because the security of sensitive government data must come first. The use of additional data-extracting applications will be monitored, according to Dowden.
