University of Michigan requires password resets after cyberattack

The University of Michigan (UMICH) issued a warning to staff and students on Tuesday informing them that a recent cyberattack requires them to change their account passwords.

Community members are requested to change their passwords by September 12 in emails from the university’s CISO and CIO that were viewed by BleepingComputer.

Users that disregard this requirement will be prevented from accessing their accounts until they go through the considerably more difficult forgotten password recovery process.
