US and UK Sanction Seven Russian Cyber Criminals

On February 9, the governments of the US and the UK jointly announced sanctions against seven Russian cybercriminals.

The people are members of the infamous Trickbot malware gang, which the US and UK claim is responsible for carrying out hostile cyberattacks against vital infrastructure, including hospitals, in both countries.

Russian nationals Vitaly Kovalev, Maksim Mikhailov, Valentin Karyagin, Mikhail Iskritskiy, Dmitry Pleshevskiy, Ivan Vakhromeyev, and Valery Sedletski were among those who received sanctions.
