The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s X account was compromised today, leading to the false declaration that Bitcoin ETFs had been approved for trading on security exchanges.
This afternoon, the SEC’s compromised X account tweeted the announcement, which has since been removed.”Today the SEC grants approval to Bitcoin ETFs for listing on registered national security exchanges,” according to the bogus X post.
“The approved Bitcoin ETFs will be subject to ongoing surveillance and compliance measures to ensure continued investor protection.”
