VoltSchemer attacks use wireless chargers to inject voice commands, fry phones

A group of university researchers demonstrates how speech commands may be injected into a smartphone’s voice assistant through the magnetic field that an off-the-shelf wireless charger emits, utilizing a novel class of assaults known as “VoltSchemer.”

Additionally, VoltSchemer can be used to physically harm the mobile device and raise the temperature of nearby objects to a level higher than 536F (280C).
