Cloud Atlas’ Spear Phishing Attacks Target Russian Agro and Research Companies

Cloud Atlas, a threat actor, has been connected to a series of spear-phishing assaults on Russian businesses.

Targets included a state-owned research organization and a Russian agro-industrial concern, according to a report from F.A.C.C.T., a stand-alone cybersecurity firm established following Group-IB’s official withdrawal from Russia earlier this year.

Cloud Atlas is an unidentified cyber espionage group that has been operating since at least 2014. The threat actor, also known by the names Clean Ursa, Inception, Oxygen, and Red October, is well-known for its ongoing campaigns that target Turkey, Slovenia, Belarus, Russia, and Azerbaijan.
