MI5 Launches New Agency to Tackle State Backed Attacks

Yesterday, a new security agency started doing its task of defending the UK against threats from terrorist organisations and states.

The Integrated Review Refresh, a significant new evaluation of government defence spending, included the creation of the National Preventive Security Authority (NPSA).

As a recognition that state and terrorist threats are not exclusively directed at critical infrastructure (CNI) providers, the NPSA will be based out of security service MI5 and assume and expand the duties of the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure.
