One of the largest organizations in the world, New York Life Insurance Company (NYLIC), was susceptible to the MOVEit Transfer attacks through third-party vendor Pension Benefit Information (PBI).
PBI started alerting people about a hack that exposed information on the NYLIC. The PBI-related vulnerability is the most recent in a string of MOVEit Transfer attacks-related third-party leaks involving the company.
The MOVEit Transfer service used by PBI exposed the Prudential Insurance Company of America, Wilton Re, a US-based insurer, California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), and a number of other organizations to the attack.
25,685 people connected to the NYLIC were made aware of the attack, according to PBI’s letter to the Maine Attorney General read more New York Life data exposed in third party breach.
