New York Life data exposed in third-party breach

One of the largest organizations in the world, New York Life Insurance Company (NYLIC), was susceptible to the MOVEit Transfer attacks through third-party vendor Pension Benefit Information (PBI).

PBI started alerting people about a hack that exposed information on the NYLIC. The PBI-related vulnerability is the most recent in a string of MOVEit Transfer attacks-related third-party leaks involving the company.

The MOVEit Transfer service used by PBI exposed the Prudential Insurance Company of America, Wilton Re, a US-based insurer, California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), and a number of other organizations to the attack.
