A ransomware assault that affected systems within Veolia North America, a subsidiary of the multinational company Veolia, crippled its bill payment systems and affected its Municipal Water division.

Veolia has detected the attack and taken defensive action, temporarily shutting down certain systems to limit the intrusion.
