Google acknowledged that hackers had set up a fake account on its Law Enforcement seek System (LERS) platform, which is used by law enforcement to formally seek data from the corporation.
Google informed BleepingComputer, “We have discovered that a fraudulent account was created in our system for law enforcement requests, and we have disabled the account.”
This bogus account was not used to make any requests or access any data.
