During the 2023 tax season, a fresh phishing attempt was discovered in which hackers created a free QuickBooks account and used it to generate phoney invoices.
According to Avanan, a division of Check Point Software Technologies, this is the case. The scam is referred known as BEC 3.0, or business email compromise.
